Law enforcement responded to a collision that occurred between two vehicles in Perry in the middle of the afternoon on Thursday.
According to Perry Police Officer Alex Lott, the department was notified around 2:55pm about a crash on Willis Avenue and 18th Street. He says that a GMC Acadia was southbound on 18th Street at the stop sign, then pulled out into the intersection and didn’t realize that a Honda CR-V was quickly approaching eastbound as it struck the front quarter panel of the Acadia. Lott was not able to provide names of the drivers, but identified that they were both females.
He confirms that the women were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash and were checked out by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries. Lott states that the airbags were deployed in the Honda CR-V and sustained front-end damage, while the Acadia had front quarter panel damage on the passenger side and broke the control arm on the passenger tire.
He adds that there were no arrests made at the scene, but the driver of the CR-V was cited for no insurance. Lott concludes that assisting the Perry Police Department was the Perry Fire Department and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
