A Jefferson resident who recently published a book with short stories of his time in law enforcement, retiring as an Iowa State Patrol Trooper, will be at Author Talks at two libraries in Greene County.

M.F. and Maude E. Marchant Memorial Library in Scranton Library Director Tammy Ross says Robert Hurley will be at their library tomorrow at 10:30am for an Author Talk about his book, “10-31: Crime in Progress.” Grand Junction Library Director Alan Robinson says Hurley will be at their Author Talk on Monday at 7pm. Hurley tells Raccoon Valley Radio the book includes 128 stories that took three years to publish it in 2024. He goes over the kinds of stories that are included.

“Most of it is funny. I’ve only got a very few stories in there that are really nasty. Those are the kind of stories you want to forget about and can’t. Some of the silly stuff you’ll remember and laugh about.”

The Author Talks with Hurley are free and open to the public. Copies of the book can be purchased on Amazon for $13. Hurley will also be available to sign copies of his book as well.
