The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball team is traveling a familiar distance tonight for the second round of the Class 4A Region 2 postseason game.

ADM will be seeing Raccoon River Conference opponent Gilbert tonight, as they look to avenge their two losses from earlier this season. The Tigers are coming off a 70-15 victory over the Perry Jayettes on Wednesday in the first round. During the 2024-25 season, ADM was defeated by Gilbert by similar scores of 54-47 and 53-47. Tiger senior Kelli Storck acknowledges that ADM is going to have to play a complete game to get the job done.

“I think that we need to play all four quarters, and we need to come, especially that fourth quarter, because we seem to always lack there, and we need to bring the energy the most then because I feel like in the past, we could’ve won both the other games and then we ended up losing it just in that last little bit of time, and so I think that Saturday we really need to become ready for that, and I really hope our shots fall and that we’re ready to go because I think we can win, we will win, and it should be expected by all of us.”

Senior Aniston Tollari explains that she’s been working on her defensive game throughout the season, and Head Coach Danielle Craig has been pushing her to get better each week. The winner of tonight’s game will battle either North Polk or Winterset for the regional championship on Tuesday. Tonight’s game will be played at Gilbert High School, with a 7pm start. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, beginning at 6:45pm.
