The AC/GC Chargers girls basketball team has moved on to the regional final in their postseason bracket.

The Chargers hosted the Central Decatur Cardinals Friday night, and started things off quick, ending the first quarter up 22-9. Things got weird in the second quarter though, as Chargers senior Shay Lemke went down hard, tweaking her ankle almost immediately as the quarter started, and shortly after that there was a fan injury that paused the game for roughly half an hour. When the teams came back, neither was able to get back into the groove of things, and the score going into halftime was 29-15 in favor of the Chargers.

The third quarter went better scoring wise though, as AC/GC outscored Central Decatur 18-16, going into the fourth quarter 47-31. The Chargers then finished the game with the 66-46 victory. The Crafty’s Coffee and Gifts Player of the Game went to two starters, with Shay Lemke nominated for coming back from the ankle injury to lead the Chargers in scoring, and Karli Kautzky for having a heavy hand in the scoring column as well, only one point behind Lemke. The Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game came at the end of the game, as the Cardinals weren’t letting up even in the final seconds, and Karli Kautzky iced a three point shot with one second on the shot clock, and two on the game clock.
