Nathan Bentler would be one of two representatives for West Central Valley at the boys state wrestling tournament at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Bentler would find his way at the Wells alongside fellow senior Zach Teague, who would go on to place 8th at 285. Bentler, would battle hard, but would find himself just short of the podium falling in the blood round to Mason Hoyt of Iowa Valley by tech fall 16-0.

Bentler would fall in his first match against Hunter Sauer of Alburnett by fall in 4:15 second moving him to the consolation side. Bentler would receive a bye in the first consolation round before defeating Mason Allen of Central Decatur by decision 13-11 to enter the blood round. Bentler would fall just short of the podium, as Hoyt would end Bentler’s season.

Bentler ends his season with West Central Valley at 32-17, and closes the chapter of Wildcat wrestling.
