
Last night the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls basketball team played host to the Ballard Bombers for the first round of regional basketball action. The Mustangs defeated the Bombers 51-41 and now will face off against the Carlisle Wildcats on Tuesday with tip off scheduled for 7pm as both teams battle for the regional championship.
Ava Smid had a tremendous night against the Bombers leading the Mustangs in points with 16. Smid would terrorize the Bombers on both sides of the ball, almost achieving the double double with over 6 rebounds. Jones would also have a great night, raining in 4 threes to total 12 points helping the Mustangs defeat the Bombers 51-41. Smid, Jones, and the Mustang girls now switch their sites to the regional championship.
Playoff basketball continues on Tuesday for the Mustang girls as they face off against the Carlisle Wildcats in the regional championship. The road to the state tournament for the Mustang reaches its final stop on Tuesday with tip off scheduled for 7pm.
