A small town in Dallas County is in the process of restoring its water tower following a leak, which took place this past Sunday, February 23rd.

Minburn City Clerk and Public Works Director Chris Helm believes that the freezing temperatures during the last week caused a pipe in the water tower to burst. He states that employees from the United States Gypsum Corporation (USG), which is a drywall, ceiling, and flooring manufacturer, are currently assessing the damage to check on which parts of the tower need repair.

Helm tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it’s hard to put an estimated timeframe on when the tower will be fixed as that will depend on how severe the leak is. He explains that the water tower will be shut down for the foreseeable future, but residents still have access to water, as the city is connected through the Xenia system. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
