The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in session Thursday.
The Board approved appointing Dustin Capps as a County Medical Examiner Investigator per the request of Dr. Josh Strehle, then discussed a pay increase for Secondary Roads Department Employees. Guthrie County Engineer Josh Sebern mentioned he would like to implement a seven percent increase, and to consider multiple factors like seniority, performance and qualifications moving forward for a pay scale. No action was taken by the Board pending Sebern conducting some reviews.
The Board then discussed with Zoning Administrator and Region XII Council of Governments representative Chris Whitaker, approving the zoning administrator contract with an increase from $75 per hour to $100 per hour. Supervisor Mike Dickson said that he likes the work Whitaker does, as he does a good job, and gets permits in on time. Auditor Dani Fink reviewed the last several years of how much the county had paid for Whitaker’s services, and shared that they averaged $10,000 a year with a few variances.
The Board also approved zoning ordinance recommendations made by Whitaker after reviewing them with him, and went through a strategic planning meeting that they took no action on.
