Over 30 students from Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High Schools are moving onto a state competition later this month.

Perry and ADM took 46 students combined to the Iowa High School Speech Association Individual Events District Contest in Ankeny this past Saturday, with most of them advancing to state. Perry Speech Coach Mandy Meyers tells Raccoon Valley Radio that nine students earned Division-1 ratings in six different categories. 

According to ADM Speech Coach Jacque Seidl, 23 individuals were awarded Division-1 ratings and are moving onto state in 11 categories. The 32 students between the two schools will now prepare for the state contest that is taking place on Saturday, March 15 at Ames High School.
