Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center is hosting their annual Jazz and Pops Concert this week.

Vocal Director Kelsey Dinkla says that the concert is just a performance that they put on to showcase some of the hard work the students have done throughout the year. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what goes into the performance.

“Every March we have a jazz and a pops concert. Our jazz band performs as well as our large group musical theater kits. And then the choir sings a lot of show tunes and music from TV shows, movies, musicals, and it’s probably our favorite concert of the year, just because it’s really laid back and it’s a lot of tunes that people should know.”

Dinkla mentions that some of the songs the show choir has chosen this year include pieces from “The Sound of Music,” which will also be performed at the school this spring.
