All nine Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girls’ basketball teams have completed their seasons after West Marshall (State Center) lost to Mount Vernon in Monday’s quarterfinals of Class 3A State Tournament play in Des Moines. The Trojans were the only HOIAC program to advance to State now that their season is over, the league’s All-Conference selections can be released.

Greene County was 0-16 in the conference and 0-23 overall. Coach Tori Ogden’s Rams did not have any first or second team All-Conference selections, but two players were named to the Honorable Mention list. Sophomore Makenna Ebersole and junior Kaycee Pittman received HM recognition. Ebersole just missed a statistical double-double for the season with 10 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. She was an undersized post player, while Pittman, was out of position playing point guard due to injuries. She averaged nearly five points per contest.

Roland-Story (Story City) won the conference title with PCM (Monroe) in second place, and WM third. Just two games separated those three teams.
