2020 Greene County High School graduate Carter Morton of Jefferson won three field event titles at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships at Gately Park in Chicago. After a long jump title and a tie for fifth place in the pole vault on Sunday, Morton won the triple jump and high jump on Monday. Four events, three first place finishes and a tie for fifth. The strong performances earned Morton won both top individual honors for men, Outstanding male performer of the meet and Outstanding male field event performer.

Morton set a season best when he cleared the high jump bar at 6′ 10-3/4″ and was just 1/4″ from matching his career best. He won the triple jump, after he and another jumper had best jumps of 48′ 4-3/4.” Morton was declared the winner because he had the best second jump.

The Panthers won the men’s team title by 9.5 points over Indiana State.
