Jefferson Elks donates to Jefferson Congregate Meals

A non-profit organization in Jefferson recently made its traditional donations to a couple of worthy causes.

The Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306 donated a total of $6,000 from its Elks Beacon Grant, which the organization explains is part of their commitment to helping provide meals and assistance to the community. One of the donations of $3,500 went to the Jefferson Congregate Meals. Earlier this year Bill Allen, on behalf of the Jefferson Congregate Meals, explained to the Greene County Board of Supervisors at their 2026 fiscal year funding request, that their organization averaged 86 meals per day in 2024, including 90 percent of those meals being delivered and now they are extending their routes into the city of Rippey. The other $3,500 went to the local food pantry, the Greene County Action Resource Center.
