The Mustang girls advance to the semifinals of the state basketball tournament after picking up a big win over the Maquoketa Cardinals, 49-44. Smid and Jones would lead the charge for Dallas Center-Grimes, as Smid would end the night with 13 points with Jones just behind her with 12 with three big threes in the first half.

North Polk defeat Sioux Center 47-45 to advance to the semifinals as well where they will now face off against the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs on Thursday night. Coverage will begin on KDLS for the Mustang girls from the Wells Fargo Arena at 6:30pm as tip off is scheduled for 6:45pm. The Mustangs and the Comets meet to advance to the championship as state basketball action continues for the DCG girls on Thursday night.
