The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the District football assignments for the 2025 and ’26 seasons. Greene County has been assigned to Class 3A District 6 along with Atlantic, Carroll, Creston, Harlan Community, and Perry.
Coach Caden Duncan’s Rams went 5-5 in 2024 and finished third in Class 2A District 8 with a 3-2 record. The Rams move up a class to 3A for the next two seasons. The Rams met three of the five teams this past season that they are grouped with for 2025 and ’26. There were close losses to Atlantic and Carroll, and a 36-7 victory at Perry. It’s been several years since Creston and Harlan were on the Rams’ schedule.
Class 3A has six teams per district in each of six districts. There are five district games after the season begins with four non-district contests. The non-district part of the schedule will be determined in the coming weeks after teams submit a list of teams they potentially would like to play. The IHSAA makes the final decisions on who the non-district opponents are.
