With the spring season on the horizon, a program revolving around nature is coming up at an organization in Adel.
Dallas County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is hosting All About Osage Orange Trees on Wednesday. Horticulture and Conservation Program Educator Megan Will highlights that the Brenton Arboretum Executive Director Melissa Burdick will be stopping by to give insight on the Osage tree. Will elaborates on what participants will learn about.
“The history of the Osage orange tree, which has probably about five other common names. Why it’s important and something fun and unique, and a tree that maybe people don’t think about planting, but yet a very good tree, a unique tree, and just kind of learn more about that one.”
Will notes that the program is free and open to the public, but people should register in order to secure a spot. The event will be held at the Extension Office, 20861 Fairground Road, from 6-7:30pm on Wednesday.
