The two state legislators that represent Adair County were in Greenfield Friday morning.
Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair and House Representative for District 23 Ray Sorensen held a Legislative Forum, and answered questions from their constituents who were in attendance. After the forum, Sinclair shared what she took away from the event.
“What I heard is that the people are concerned about their property taxes and they’re concerned about making sure that their kids are well educated, and those are a couple of items that we can walk away talking about, and end of (the) day agree that the government needs to be smaller, smarter, and more efficient, and that everyone has a desire for the next generation to be well educated. It’s the how we get there sometimes that people disagree on, but I think we all agree in principle that those are places we need to go and that’s a great way to share and interact with the people that I represent.”
There were roughly 30 individuals in attendance at the event that was held at the Olive Branch. Topics covered included some bills passed by Sorensen’s Economic Growth and Technology Committee that he serves on, along with Veterans Affairs, the dissolution of Orient-Macksburg Community School District, and much more.
