The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday night.

The Council will consider for approval headhunter services to fill open city employee positions, then hear from Brenda Dudley on the Bonnie and Clyde Fun Run, and from the American Legion Auxiliary about Poppy Day, which is May 17th. They will then hear from Steve James and Greg Irving on maintenance of a platted street north of 818 North Main Street, discuss mowing and spraying bids for North and South Oak Cemeteries, before considering for approval the hourly contract proposal from Veenstra and Kimm.

The Council will also consider for approval a recommendation from the planning and zoning commission to change a section of a City Code referring to arterial commercial zoning permitted uses, then consider the legal opinion of City Attorney Steve Brick regarding a petition received in regards to an electrical franchise fee, before considering for approval a memorandum of understanding between the city of Stuart and Stuart Municipal Utilities, as well as an agreement between Stuart Municipal Utilities and the City of Stuart regarding electric franchise fee and right of way.

The Council will then consider for approval a partial payment to McAninch Corporation regarding the Wambold 3rd Addition in the amount of $86,089.38, hear about a potential liquidated damages assessment, the fifth pay estimate for the 2023 Wambold 3rd Addition Street Lighting Project for $41,611.28 and hear an update on White Pole Road reconstruction. They will also consider for approval City Property and Liability Insurance Proposals, then hear from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk, and make appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
