Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball Coach Danielle Craig reviews the adjustments she made in her first season at the helm.

Craig led ADM to 15 wins in her first year as the head coach, which was an eight game improvement to the 2023-24 season. She explains that trying to change too many areas at once would be detrimental to the team, and instead focused a lot of her energy on the defensive side of the ball. Craig tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the Tigers finished top two in the conference defensively, and was satisfied with the team’s ability to step up to the challenge.

“So I was really happy with the growth throughout the season, as no team can take away your toughness or drive to maybe go rebound. So that was a big main emphasis for us as well is like let’s do the little things right, and go from there. And I think every single girl did that this year.”

Craig understood that the offense might suffer a little bit, as she points out that it takes time to learn a new system, but is proud that the girls developed immensely in that area. She is optimistic about the future for the team. ADM finished 15-10 overall, and fifth inside the Raccoon River Conference, as they lost to North Polk in the Class 4A Region 2 Championship game on February 25th.
