
The Adel City Council will meet in regular session tonight.
The meeting will begin with an update from City Administrator Anthony Brown about how the annexation progress is going within the Adel city limits. Then the council will consider several items on the agenda that are seeking approval include a resolution for an application for voluntary annexation of certain land to the City of Adel, an agreement for third-party testing services with Terracon Consultants Incorporated for the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Laboratory and Administration Building Project, a construction contract and bond for the WWTP Laboratory and Administration Building, and authorizing staff to proceed with transition of landfill property and operations to the City of Adel.
Additional items on the agenda up for approval include a resolution to authorize a facilities use agreement between the City of Adel and the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Youth Softball Association, an engineering services agreement between the city and McClure Engineering for the Adel Recreation Trail Connection project as well as the first amendment for the Adel Bailey’s Grove Channel improvements project, a resolution for the Master Services Agreement for Engineering Services with McClure Engineering, and a resolution to update fiscal year 2024-25 subdivision fees.
The council will also consider setting a public hearing date to delete section 423 and storm shelters from the Building Code and possibly enter into a closed session for an annual review of the city administrator. The meeting is happening tonight at Adel City Hall, 301 S. 10th Street, at 6pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will have the results of the meeting later this week.
