Coach Chad Morton and his Greene County High School boys’ track & field team started the indoor portion of the season on Monday. The Rams were in the very large A.D. Dickinson Relays inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. No team score was kept and teams of all size schools and from all parts of the state were represented.
Junior Drew Wolterman had the top finish for Greene County. He ran the 800 meters in 2:06.68, good for twelfth place among 100 runners spread over 13 heats. Coach Morton told Raccoon Valley Radio that was a bit faster than Wolterman ran at this meet a year ago. It’s the fastest indoor 800 in the years Morton has been head coach.
The highest placing relay for the Rams was the 4 x 200 with Nicholas Stream, Lane Fields, Aiden Bardole, and Lincoln Schwander. They were forth-fifth in 1:41.18.
Coach Derek Merk and the Greene County girls go to the UNI-Dome today for the girls’ A.D. Dickinson Relays.
