4:11am: A deputy investigated a noise complaint in the 1000 block of Fitzpatrick Street, Churdan.

11:50am: A deputy investigated a hit and run accident in the 1100 block of Main Street, Scranton.

12:59pm: A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 200 block of West Main Street, Grand Junction.

2:09pm:The Sheriff and deputies investigated an assault, arson, and a pursuit in the 300 block of State Street, Scranton.

3:10pm: Shawn Annear 49 of Des Moines was booked into the jail to serve a sentence.

3:47pm: The Sheriff, deputies, and the Iowa State Patrol arrested Devin Hackfort 28 of Paton for two counts of assault on an officer, Eluding 25 mph and over, arson 2nd degree, attempted murder, and harassment 1st degree.

6:33pm: A deputy investigated a dog running at large complaint in the 700 block of 140th Street. A small dog was taken to PAWS.

7:05pm: Devin Hackfort 28 of Paton was booked into the jail for two counts of assault on an officer, Eluding 25 mph and over, arson 2nd degree, attempted murder, and harassment 1st degree.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
