The Jefferson City Council met Tuesday night in regular session.
The Council approved the second reading for two ordinance amendments. The first one was about the use of consumer fireworks on private property to be allowed on July 3rd and 4th, along with December 31st with several caveats. The second ordinance was to set the sewer rates for the next fiscal year, which are projected to be a decrease from 15 percent down to ten percent. Next, the Council approved a 28E agreement with Greene County for the Public Works Department to continue to collect recyclables for the unincorporated portions of the county. It was mentioned that the Greene County Board of Supervisors had already approved the agreement.
Additionally, the Council approved a resolution for the ordering of bids, plans and specifications, form of contract and cost estimate for a fuel project at the Municipal Airport. Finally, the Council approved the 25th pay estimate to Shank Constructors for $211,412 for the latest work that was completed on the Wastewater Treatment Plant improvement project.
