With spring break around the corner, the Perry Public Library is inviting youth out to participate in a fun event.

According to Youth Services Librarian Laura Pieper, the library will be hosting a Minecraft Scavenger Hunt for kids in kindergarten through fifth grade. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Minecraft is one of the most popular online games in the world today, and she welcomes participants to bask in the excitement.

“Get your axe out and search the library for some Minecraft characters, the kids know them better than we do. So they will be excited to find some favorites out there. Find them all and solve the riddle hidden inside the characters and you will receive a small prize.”

Pieper notes that the scavenger hunt is also a celebration of the new Minecraft movie that is releasing in April. She adds that it’s a self-directed activity and is free to drop in. The scavenger hunt will be available starting this Friday and rolling through next Friday, March 21st during normal library hours. Click here for more information.
