The Perry School Board met in regular session on Monday.

Superintendent Clark Wicks explained that the board set public hearings relating to the proposed property tax levy for fiscal year 2025-26. He said that the first public hearing will be held on March 24th at 4pm at the Brady Library at Perry High School, and the second one will follow during their next regular meeting on April 14th at 6pm.

Clark confirms that several other items on the agenda that were approved were about the school infrastructure bonds. The first was a resolution for the issuance and providing and securing the payment of school infrastructure sales, services and use of tax revenue bonds in the amount of $9,995,000; a resolution to appoint a paying agent, bond registrar and transfer agent to UMB Bank National Association of West Des Moines, Iowa; as well as the tax exemption and disclosure certificates.

Wicks said additional items that were approved included a bid for teacher laptop computers for 156 from Lenovo ThinkBook Laptops in the amount of $118,730.04, the board also accepted changes to policies from the Iowa Department of Transportation for drug and alcohol testing,  policy amendments for the post-issuance compliance regulation for tax exempt obligations, the 2025-26 insurance plan and rates through the Iowa School Employee Benefits Association and Advantage Administrators, Unum’s Life Insurance and Avesis Eye Care Insurance; a budget guarantee resolution for student insurance, custody and parental rights; student special health services, and wellness; and a 2025-26 Area Education Agency cooperative purchasing agreement.
