Guthrie County Veterans Affairs will have an event in Stuart before the end of the month.

Coordinator Beth Watson says that there will be a mobile clinic in Stuart for veterans on March 27th across from City Hall at The Depot. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that besides taking care of some health checks, there will also be individuals there to help veterans with employment.

“I will also have Iowa Works that will be coming. They were not able to bring their mobile bus that has computers that they can set up to help build veteran resumes or employment, but I have a lady that will be representing the Des Moines office and a lady that will be representing the Creston office. They will also be inside of the depot should somebody need help with resumes, employment opportunities, even knowing what jobs are available to them as military, she’ll be on standby that day too.”

Watson mentions that veterans should schedule an appointment through their primary care physician, and that they need to bring their veteran ID or DD214 for eligibility verification. She adds that the health checks include blood pressure checks, A1C testing and much more.
