A local school in Dallas County is helping out girls by providing dresses for a big dance coming up soon.
Perry High School is giving away prom dresses for girls ahead of the event in early May. According to High School Counselor Tami Valline, the department chain store JCPenney in West Des Moines had leftover prom dresses from 2024, and they contacted Perry High School to see if they would be interested in having them, which Valline highlights that the school did take them.
She shares that there are between 20-30 dresses available for girls to try on and potentially wear to prom this year. Valline confirms that there are several styles, sizes, and colors to choose from, and that girls have until prom on May 3rd to pick them up if they’re interested. She recommends that girls speak with a high school counselor about borrowing dresses.
