The West Central Valley School Board met in session on March 12th.

The Board approved an overnight stay by the West Central Valley FFA Chapter in Ames for the State FFA Convention, and set public hearings for the fiscal year 2026 proposed tax notice for March 26th, the fiscal year 2026 budget for April 16th and a budget amendment for the current fiscal year for May 21st, with all hearings to take place at 7pm. They also approved a snow day amendment for the 2024-25 academic calendar, changing April 14th and May 5th from no school for professional development (PD) to early dismissal for PD, making May 23rd the last student day and May 30th the last staff day.

The Board then accepted the grounds care bid by Short’s Lawn Care for the middle school in Redfield, and Schwinger Lawn Service, Inc for Stuart and Dexter Elementary Schools and Stuart High School. They also accepted mowing bids from Homes 4 Harvest, LLC for both elementary buildings and the middle school, and from Adam Boss for the high school and athletic complex. The meeting then ended in a closed session.
