Perry soccer adds talented player from Johnston.  Martin Carrillo returns to Perry after suiting up for Johnston his sophomore and junior years of high school.  The now senior started 20 games for the Bluejays in 2022.  Perry fell in the Substate Final that year to Humboldt 3-1.  Carrillo played JV1 the last two years while the Dragons went on to win back-to-back state titles.  Coach Overla is happy to have him back at Perry.  “Martin brings a lot of speed on the outside and he’s really adept at crossing the ball and you know causing a lot of turmoil.”

The Bluejays are searching for a third straight appearance to the State Tournament.  The season begins on March 31 in Adel against ADM.
