The Greene County High School track & field teams have had two indoor meets and now it’s time to move outside. The Rams are set to begin the outdoor portion of the schedule on March 25 in Indianola at Simpson College for a coed meet.

Kamden Kinne is a senior thrower for the Rams with the shot put his specialty. He told Raccoon Valley Radio there are differences between the event indoors and out. “The biggest one is definitely the shot itself. Indoors you have a rubbery-almost shot and the grip is different and it doesn’t seem to fit my neck quite as nice, where the metal shot is a lot smoother and it’s easier to grab for me, so I can throw that one a bit farther than the indoor shot. So, that’s the big difference.”

Kinne has thrown in the 42-43 foot range indoors, but his goals outside are to throw in the upper 40’s.
