A former Perry athlete is seeing playing time at Drake University.  Lydia Olejniczak is in her sophomore softball campaign with the Bulldogs.  The former Jayette has spent time at second base and been used as a pinch hitter.  She is tied for fifth on the team with 5 RBI’s and has an On-Base Percentage of .286.  The two bagger has started 11 games while appearing in 21 contests.

Drake is in Peoria, Illinois this weekend as Missouri Valley play continues against Bradley.  Lydia had her best game of the year so far against Kansas City on March 7.  She drove in two and had a double.  In her second year, her batting average has raised 41 points.  Drake sits at 7-17 and 0-3 in conference games.
