The three counties in Iowa that make up the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area continue to deal with drought conditions.

The U.S. Drought Monitor shows all of Dallas County is abnormally dry, as Greene County’s eastern half is abnormally dry and the western half is in moderate drought, and Guthrie County is mostly in a moderate drought with a sliver of the eastern half abnormally dry.

According to the National Weather Service, as of March 20th, Perry has accumulated 2.54 inches of precipitation ahead of its monthly average of 1.11 inches. Jefferson has experienced 0.33 inches of precipitation, which is behind the monthly rate of 1.08 inches, and Guthrie Center is sitting at 2.44 inches of precipitation surpassing the average of 1.07 inches during the month of March.
