A crash that happened near the City of Redfield on Thursday resulted in injuries and a citation.
Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Jeff Larson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that deputies responded to the collision on Old Highway 6 in Redfield around 6:30pm. He explains 19-year-old Gavin Scheuermann of Jefferson was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound on the highway when he attempted to make a left turn onto 1st Street and struck a westbound Buick LeSabre that was operated by 25-year-old Madelyn Libby of Sebring, Florida.
Larson notes that both individuals had non-life threatening injuries as Libby was checked out on scene by medical personnel and then taken to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle and Scheuermann was uninjured. He confirms that both vehicles are considered to be total losses. Larson adds that Scheuermann was cited for failure to yield upon left turn. He mentions that the Dallas County Emergency Medical Services, and the Redfield Fire and Rescue Department assisted at the scene.
