Paton-Churdan sophomore Trevon Keely cleared the high jump bar at a school record and personal best 6 feet, 7 inches on March 13 in Ames. That ties him with Tyson Seeser, a senior from Camanche for the best indoor jump of any high school boy in Iowa, according to statistical website Bound Iowa.

Keely won the Class 1A State title that day at the Lied Student Recreation Center on the Iowa State Campus is a meet put on by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.

He went 6′ 5″ as a freshman at the State Coed Championships in Des Moines last May and finished second in Class 1A.

Keely is entered in several indoor events tomorrow at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, including the high jump. Monday’s meet begins at 11 a.m.
