An athlete from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Track and Field Team is looking up to her sister, who is performing at the collegiate level.

ADM Senior Aniston Tollari (pictured below) is running in her final season for the Tigers and admits that her desire for the sport came from her older sister Olivia, who currently attends Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. Aniston tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she was always curious about track and field, then decided to give it a go in middle school.

“My sister (Olivia) has always been doing it for a long time, so I always knew that I would try it out. Seventh grade year we had Covid, so eighth grade year (I) went out and I ended up really liking it. We had a big group of girls that broke quite a few records and I just knew that I wanted to continue into high school.”

Olivia is in her junior year at Wartburg and recently placed third in the long jump with 18 feet and five inches at the American Rivers Conference Championships, where the Knights marked a second place finish. Aniston participates primarily in the open 200 meters, 400 meters, and the long jump. ADM will be in Adel on Thursday for the Coed Early Bird Meet, starting at 4:30pm.
