The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center FFA Chapter recently announced that some members were nominated for an exciting opportunity.
Advisor Skie Shull says that four members were chosen to take part in the FFA State Choir and Band during the State FFA Leadership Conference from April 13th to 15th. Members chosen to participate in the choir are Allison Drake, Emmarae Ellis and Montana Douglas. Laurin Davis was nominated to participate in the State FFA Band. The Chapter has had members take part in the State Band or Choir in multiple recent years. Shull mentions that to be chosen for the State Band and Choir, members have to be currently enrolled in their high school band or choir, and receive a letter of recommendation from their high school director. She adds that members are chosen based on their part or what they play, but that not every person who applies is chosen as part of the State Band or Choir because they need to fill the positions they need for that year’s music selection.
