Perry girls golf began practice earlier this week. The Jayettes lost majority of their varsity experience from last year’s team. Coach Kingsley will have to rely on younger girls this season. Despite the lack of varsity experience, he is happy with the athleticism on the team. “Athleticism goes a long way in golf. Gotta a few softball players as well. It’s pretty close to the same swing.” Being a good athlete is a start, but coach understands their is still a lot of work ahead of the girls. “Golf is not the easiest sport. It’s hard to learn. Takes a few years especially if it is your first time ever playing.”
The Jayettes open the season on April 10. Perry will be in Grand Junction that night going up against the Greene County, Gilbert, and Des Moines Christian.
