The 8th Annual BOOST Bash is coming up Saturday and while people can’t get tickets to attend the fundraiser in person, they can contribute another way this week.

Tracy Deal with Bringing Optimism and Opportunities to Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County Schools says the online auction is underway for people to place bids now. There are new items and experiences that people can bid on through the online auction and Deal points out that last year, $9,160 was raised through the online auction that contributed to the overall $60,000 that was brought in at the 7th Annual BOOST Bash. Steve Karber is also a member of BOOST and he talks about the tremendous community support for their fundraiser.

“The community is BOOST. We have a steering committee that organizes the event and helps distribute those funds, but it really is our community. The community should be very proud of the fact that they support their school system the way they do. In this day and age of less money here, there and everywhere, it’s great to see people come out and say, ‘No! Education is incredibly important to me. I want to support our teachers.’ It’s great boost of morale for our teachers as well.”

The online auction closes at 8pm this Saturday. Click here to sign up and start bidding on items.
