The Dallas County Foundation is recognizing an important program across Iowa in 2025.
According to Foundation Grant Chair Lynn Ubben, the Iowa Legislature created the County Endowment Fund Program in 2004. She notes that the program has issued 36,884 grants to invest $148 million in nonprofits and charitable organizations across the state, including $2,155,000 in Dallas County over the past two decades.
Ubben reveals that the Endowment Fund Program most recently gave $15,000 to help the City of Bouton with the connection of the Raccoon Valley Trail and the High Trestle Trail. She elaborates on other projects the Endowment Fund Program has benefitted.
“We’ve been able to affect many youth programs, provide local libraries with equipment programming. Equipping our police and fire departments with the latest gear, and enrich recreational things throughout the community.”
Ubben adds that those donations are made possible thanks to the $40,000 to $50,000 the foundation receives from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation on a yearly basis. She believes that money invested into the foundation further benefits the projects in Dallas County.
