Fredy Aguilar
Greene County High School junior Fredy Aguilar has played soccer since he was in lower elementary school. He’s one of three team Captains for the Rams and the only junior, along with seniors Marcus Ball and Jacob Harmeyer.
Aguilar scored two goals on Monday night in the season opening 9-1 victory over Grand View Christian of Des Moines at Linduska Field in Jefferson. He points to the relationships, not the goals, as what he most enjoys about playing high school soccer. “I think it’s more about the memories and the people you meet through the journey of playing soccer. You make new friends like Jacob and Marcus and I’ve gotten really close with them because of soccer!”
A mid-fielder, Fredy is versatile enough to play several positions on the soccer field and he names passing as his biggest soccer strength. Aguilar and his teammates hit the road for the first time when they play on Thursday in State Center vs. Central Iowa United.
