A group focused on the environment and the animals that live in it is holding their annual banquet Saturday.
Guthrie County Pheasants Forever and Quails Forever member Cindy Kisting says that the banquet is also their main fundraiser for the year. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that their mission is making sure that pheasants and quails have areas of their natural habitat left to live in, which also has other benefits.
“Pheasants Forever and Quails Forever try and get kids outdoors to get them acquainted to what habitat is about and to teach them about pollinators. We try and get pollinator seed in the ground because we are losing our bumblebees and our monarchs and all the other bees. And if we lose both of those groups, we’re not going to have any food sources.”
Kisting mentions that the banquet will be Saturday at the Lake Panorama Conference Center, with doors to open at 5pm, and dinner at 6:30pm. She adds that they will have live and silent auctions, and a raffle, along with games throughout the night. Those wanting to attend can pick up tickets at the door, or register ahead of time by going to the Pheasants Forever website, which can be found in this story online.
