Over the weekend, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs girls soccer team traveled to Ankeny for the Ankeny & Centennial Crosstown Invitational. The Mustangs, faced off against Waukee Northwest and Ankeny Centennial, and unfortunately fell in both matches.

On Friday afternoon, Mustangs would face off against Waukee Northwest first and would go scoreless in the first half as both defenses would shine. In the second half, Waukee Northwest would strike the decision making goal, defeating the Mustangs 1-0.

To wrap up the invitational the Mustangs would face the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars on Saturday morning. The Jaguars would strike first in the first half, scoring 3 goals to take the victory over Dallas Center-Grimes 3-0.

The Mustangs girls fall to 0-2-1 and prepare for their next outing on Tuesday as they host the Norwalk Warriors. The action is set to begin at 7pm.
