The annual Easter Egg Hunt in Jefferson is coming up Saturday.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says they are partnering once again with the Jefferson Kiwanis Club to host the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday at 4pm around the outside of the Greene County Community Center. He points out that this is a free event for kids that are toddlers to third graders and there will be three separate age groups spread around the community center. Pohlmeyer talks about participants needing to make sure they are at the community center before 4pm to make sure your child or children can get their hands on those plastic eggs.
“It’s a lot of prep for a quick, short program. It’s over and done within five minutes tops, but it is really fun. There’s a lot of opportunities to win cool games, we’re doing that this year, we’re also have tickets to the Sierra (Community Theatre) that kids can win, and the best one is candy, lots, and lots, and lots of candy. So we’d like to thank all of those sponsors.”
Pre-registration is appreciated but not necessary. Registration the day of will begin at 3:30pm and then the kids must wait until the sound of the horn to take off and grab the hundreds of eggs that are scattered on the lawns around the community center at 4pm.
