The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library is starting a new line of youth events this month.

Library Director Jerri Hawkins tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the first new event is today at 2pm.

“(We will have) a day that’s called LEGO Mania Day, and that is different activities with LEGOs, kind of similar to a Lego Club. They’ll come in and we’ll have a set activity that they need to kind of work together or individually to make.”

Hawkins mentions that the next new event will be April 21st at 12:30pm, where they will be having a Movie Day, and watching “Moana 2.” She adds that the final new event is the Creation Corner, which will be April 30th at 2pm, where kids will be able to make May Baskets. Hawkins explains that registration is required for these, as there are only 25 seats available per event, so for the two events after today call in to the library at 641-747-8110 to save yourself a spot. She says that they are just starting these, so dates and times may change for now, but that she’s hoping they are able to get everything finalized and set by the end of the summer reading program.
