There are two Easter Egg Hunts happening later today in Jefferson.

The first one is for canines with People for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Greene County to host the 2nd Annual Doggie Easter Egg Hunt at 1pm at the Rotary Centennial Dog Park near the Community Animal Shelter in Jefferson. Any dog and their owner wanting to participate, must have their furry friend on a leash at all times during the hunt. Organizers say plastic eggs will be scattered about the dog parks with home-baked health dog treats, and golden eggs will include a special prize. The cost to participate is $5 per dog, with all proceeds going back to PAWS for the care and treatment of the animals at the shelter.

The other Easter Egg Hunt is with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department at 4pm at the Greene County Community Center. JPRD Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says the free event is for toddlers through third graders that will be in different age groups and registrations start at 3:30pm today. He thanks all entities that are involved with this event to make it possible for another year.
