A structure in the Greene County area was subject to fire on Saturday afternoon.

According to Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams, first responders were made aware of a fire that started at a residential garage at 4:24pm. He shares that the garage was unattached from the home, and confirmed that no one was home during that time. Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but that the garage is considered a total loss, estimating a repair cost of approximately $50,000. 

He notes that the Jefferson and Scranton Fire Departments responded to the scene, as well as the Greene County Ambulance. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
