Celebration of Life for Karla Kae (Sanders) Mitchell, 73, of Afton, will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, 1:00 p.m. at
Powers Funeral Home in Creston.  Burial will follow at Moon Cemetery near Macksburg. Open visitation will be held 2:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2025, with family receiving friends from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers,

Karla is survived by her daughters Shannon Thompson (Clint Hoffman) of Diagonal, Stacy Johnson
(Mike) of Gilbert, and Wendi “Bobbie” Eslinger (late Jeff) of Macksburg; grandchildren Morgan
Thompson (Cooper McDermott), David Thompson (Chloe), Wyatt Thompson (Jaxie), Keaton Eslinger
(Liz McNamara), Mitchell Johnson (ShyAnne Brogden), Beau Thompson (Kara Kinsella), Kaela
Eslinger, Vanessa Johnson (Brayden Evertsen), Hank Johnson, Kinsey Eslinger (Noah Felix); and great-
grandchildren Ellie Thompson and Layton Thompson. She is also survived by her brothers Duane
Sanders, Lyle Sanders (Wanda), Merlin Sanders, Allen Sanders (Dottie), and Tom Sanders (Mary); sisters
Joyce Jensen (John) and Betty Love (Lonnie); brothers-in-law, Jim Mitchell (Cheryl) and Keith Mitchell
(Karen) and sister-in-law, Judy McCarthy; and many nieces and nephews.
