Greene County and Panorama met on the soccer fields last night with the schools splitting the non-conference varsity matches. Both road teams won with the Panthers improving to 3-2 in girls’ soccer with a 10-0 win at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The contest ended with more than nine minutes remaining in the second half after the Panthers reached the 10 goal margin. The Rams won by the same 10-0 score in Panora to improve to 4-1.

The girls’ match saw Panorama junior Morgan Crees add to impressive goals total. She scored seven times to up her total to 17 in four games. The Rams fell to 0-5 on the season after playing at home for the first time. Greene County did not have any shots on goal.

The boys’ contest ended with over 13 minutes left in half number two when the 10 goal margin was reached after the Rams built a 6-0 halftime lead. Juniors Lincoln Schwander and Franklin Regalado each scored four goals. Junior Fredy Aguilar and sophomore Ethan Carstens each had one goal. Aguilar and Carstens each added two assists with one each from Schwander, senior Jacob Harmeyer, and freshman Dani Carballo Aguilar. Goalkeepers Marcus Ball, a senior, and freshman Collin Russell, each had one save. The shut out was the second of the season and second straight for the Rams.  The Panthers fell to 2-4 this season.

The Greene County girls’ host Kuemper Catholic (Carroll) today at Linduska Field in Jefferson with the varsity contest at 5:30 p.m. The boys’ scheduled game for today in Carroll vs. the Knights has been postponed until May 6 due to an issue scheduling officials.
