The Dallas County Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.

The board held a discussion about utilizing future space needs for several departments in Dallas County, with Supervisor Chair Kim Chapman addressing the fact that there will be those needs as the county continues to grow. There was a conversation about where to put certain departments, but Finance Director Rob Tietz outlined that with the unknown of whether the newly proposed criminal court building will be passed on this November’s ballot, it was hard to tell how much money the county will have. After a lengthy discussion, the board decided to table the conversation to a future meeting.

Items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution to purchase a 2025 pickup truck for the Secondary Roads Department, an agreement to install a heating ventilation and air conditioning system for an exercise center in the Dallas County Jail, a resolution to appoint County Supervisor Julia Helm and Monte Buttons to the Temporary Redistricting Commission, along with a County Auditor’s furniture request in the amount of $63,325.43. County Auditor Todd Halbur unveiled the money will go towards new desks and chairs from Storey-Kenworthy.

The board then held a workshop for the County Auditor, Recorder, Treasurer, and Assessor’s Offices and the Secondary Roads Department.
