
Sophomore Trevon Keely led the way for the Paton-Churdan high school boys’ track & field team on Tuesday in Gowrie at the Southeast Valley Relays. The meet was postponed from Monday until yesterday and overall weather conditions were favorable, although windy. Keely was first in the three events he competed in. He won the high jump at six feet even; was first in the 100 meter dash in 11.48 seconds, and first in the 200 meter dash in 23.45 seconds.
Freshman Damen Rice won the 400 meter dash in 59 seconds flat. The Rockets were second in the sprint medley relay in 1:51.32 and the distance medley relay was runner-up in 4:31.86
There were six teams in Class A and Class B, with the Rockets in Class B, the smaller of the two classes. The Rockets placed fourth among eight team with 63 points.
The P-C girls and boys are scheduled to take part in Thursday’s ACGC Charger Invitational in Guthrie Center.
